Karen L. Heller

Karen Lynn Heller, 65, of Janesville passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2013 following a valiant battle with cancer. Karen was born July 28, 1947 in Janesville, the daughter of Allan and Margaret (Disch) Hill. She graduated from Clinton High School, received a bachelor’s degree from UW- Whitewater and a masters degree from the National College of Education.  Karen taught kindergarten in the Milton School District for 35 years. She was a member of the Orfordville Lutheran Church, Delta Kappa Gamma and the Daylilies Singing Group. Karen enjoyed volunteering at the House of Mercy.
Surviving are two children, Matthew Heller of Janesville, Kathryn (Taylor Laabs) Heller of West Salem, WI, three grandchildren, Cody and Ava Laabs and Maddison Phipps, one sister, Gwen Wagie of Edgerton, four brothers, Ross (Susan) Hill of Janesville, Jim (Susan) Hill of Wonewoc, WI, Brian (Peggy) Hill and Tom (Dani) Hill both of Milton as well as numerous nieces, nephews and many wonderful friends.
Karen’s family wishes to thank all of her many friends who have been so helpful and supportive during this time.
A memorial gathering will be held at the Orfordville Lutheran Church on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 from 5 to 8 p.m. to celebrate Karen’s life. The family is being assisted by Henke-Clarson Funeral Home.
